【ロイ・レスター博士 経歴】
モントリオールにあるマッギル大学、総合学習教育学部第二言語教育学科の名誉教授。トロント大学にて応用言語学の博士号、教育修士号、そして教育学士を取得。加え、パリ第7大学にて、修士号を取得。
レスター博士とレイラ・ランタは、外国語教育研究に対して、ホール・ピンズラー賞を共同受賞(1998年)、Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers(第二言語指導教員カナディアンアソシエーション)により、ロバート・ロイ賞を受賞(2017年)。2004-2008年、応用言語学カナディアンアソシエーションの共同所長、所長を務める。イマージョン教育や内容を重視した外国語教授法(content-based learning)に関する書籍や学術誌に70以上執筆している。現在、テディック氏と共同で、新しい書籍Scaffolding language development in immersion and
dual language classrooms. New

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Roy Lyster, professor emeritus at McGill
University, to Katoh Gakuen. He will be with us for the next four months as a
resident consultant in our English Immersion / Bilingual Program. Dr. Lyster is a world-renowned scholar and
educator in immersion education, content-based instruction, and second language
acquisition.
Dr. Lyster has a PhD in Applied Linguistics as
well as a B.Ed. and M.Ed. from the University of Toronto, and an MA from the
Université de Paris VII. His research examines content-based second language
instruction and the effects of instructional interventions designed to
counterbalance form-focused and content-based approaches. His research
interests also include professional development and collaboration among
teachers for the purpose of integrated language learning and biliteracy
development. He was co-recipient with colleague Leila Ranta of the 1998 Paul
Pimsleur Award for Research in Foreign Language Education and was presented
the Robert Roy Award by the Canadian Association of Second Language
Teachers in 2017. He was co-president then president of the Canadian
Association of Applied Linguistics from 2004 to 2008. He has written over 70
academic journal articles and book chapters on immersion and content-based
learning. He is also the author of a module called Content-Based
Language Teaching published by Routledge in 2018, and two
books: Learning and Teaching Languages Through Content published
by Benjamins in 2007 and Vers une approche intégrée en immersion published
in French by Les Éditions CEC in 2016. He is currently working on a new book on
Scaffolding language development in immersion and dual
